For the machining of heavy duty to be possible the structure of horizontal model makes the operation much easier because it is more dynamic balanced to roll those work piece components and machinery accessories on the horizontal platform than on the vertical counterparts. Furthermore, regarding the vertical type CNC heavy duty lathe machine, the work piece is clamped vertically so that the cutting tool is equipped on the same direction and the machining is conducted vertically.

On the other hand, though horizontal is a common model, vertical is also workable and widely accepted due to certain structural features. By this arrangement the clamping is much more stern and fixed due to the gravity effect compared to the horizontal methodology.
